Will it lather properly without sulfates?

Yes. Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate produce dense, stable foam — it just arrives differently. Sulfate lather is aggressive and immediate because the surfactant is tearing into the lipid layer. Amino acid surfactant lather builds with agitation: work it into the scalp for 15–20 seconds and the foam is comparable. The difference is what's happening underneath. The hair's protein structure stays intact.

Why does it need 60–90 seconds?

The patented click chemistry actives need a diffusion window. In 60 seconds, Aminalyl S and Pro-amino X migrate from the surfactant matrix through the cuticle to reach free thiol groups at broken disulfide sites in the cortex. That's where new covalent bonds form. Rinsing at 30 seconds means cleansing without reconstruction. The 60–90 second window is the difference between a shampoo that cleans and a shampoo that begins to rebuild.

Can I use this without the conditioner?

You can. The shampoo initiates reconstruction independently — the patented actives form covalent bonds during the wash regardless of what follows. But the Molecular Reconstruction Conditioner completes the process: higher active load, longer contact time, and pH 3.5 to seal the cuticle over the repaired interior. The shampoo starts the work. The conditioner finishes it.
